Oh, it because my clip was created from *.txt.
Is there a way to create a clip which can be applied to any type file?

No. Clip is related to highlighter
But you can switch off syntax highight (button on toolbar) and then used your TXT clips

I tried, but the crash still appears. It does not seem to depend on if right edge is present or not and on if wrapping is done with respect to the right edge or to the window edge. Also it does not depend on the value of max line length.

I don't know if this bug has already been reported, but I have some trouble with the syntax color chooser. Here come some screenshots :
Change syntax color on existing document :
As you can see, when I create a new document and want to change the syntax coloring, the "TXT file" entry is gone with the wind ...
HTH,

TXT file has no syntax. You can switch off syntax of any file with button on toolbar or in the menu View

There is a serious error in your latest build that causes tabs to get confused resulting in files saving over other (open) files (in another tab). This has occurred more than once -- the first time cost me several hours to rewrite the files that were overwritten. I have attached screenshots of the visible result of this bug -- the tab says one name but the hover over says another.
