Many crashes and corrupt files since 5.0.6 (character "ÿ" in files)

Not 100% sure, but I think I have them disabled for years. Sorry to say that.

When will this problem ever be fixed?

After going back to 5.0.4 for a long time i gave the newest
developer build (5.0.7 745, 32Bit) a try.

But beginning with the first day i have my special characters back (ÿ EN) and ASCII(0)

The ÿ is ALWAYS inserted in the end of code structures
IF .. END, SWITCH..CASE..BREAK and so on.

So i think this is NOT a memory problem (overflows, boundaries, illegal regions etc).

I use highlighting, but NO code folding.

I donated in the past for a special enhancement and i would like to support PSPad in the future, but if this is not fixed in the next time, i am not able to use this editor.

When compiling i always have to correct many files which get corrupted when opened in PSPad, even when they are not changed, only opened.

I am trying to find a reason. Actually, I fixed much crashes reasons already.
I use PSPad daily and this problem doesn't occurs for me, so it's hard to find anything.

What highlighter do you use?
Can you disable highlight matching brackets in the program settings / Editor? This is the biggest suspicion what can cause it.

All other options rergarding brackets have been off previously.

I use an own highlighter for a special database and programming language in the informix world.

OK, it means User highlighter. It's enough for me.

Settings for all bracket and character completion functions 'off'
does not help, same errors.

But my user highlighter is 'only' other keywords,
no spcecial functions, very simple (like COBOL )
should be no difference to 'other' keywords.

What about virtual space (work behind line endings)? This is more or less the only relevant option I remember to have changed from the default settings and I'm still having this annoying problem as well.

Program settings / Editor 1 - scroll past EOL option
Eventually you can enable Scroll past EOF, if you want to scroll past end of file
