I switched to RJ TextEd. Tried PSPad again today, same errors as always ..

Yes, me too... the author is very assertive in addressing bugs that pop up now and then, and of course, this lethal pspad bug is nowhere to be seen...

RJTE is a Wonderful programmer's editor, everything that I once expected pspad to be...

The 64-bit version was always more unstable,
so i stopped using 64-bit many months ago.

If the 64-bit version was causing problems, sticking with the 32-bit version seems like a practical choice.

HA!! This issue is *well documented* in the 32-bit program; the 64-bit is irrelevant!!

I'm using PSPad 5.5.1 (825) (32b) and I'm occasionally seeing this same file corruption.

For me, the corruption is always on a line that has a 1-indent } closing brace and is always of this 9-byte format:

Original:
0d 0a 20 20 20 20 7d 0d 0a

Corruption:
0d 0a ff 00 20 20 10 0d 0a

I don't recall seeing it happen on a line that had anything after the } brace, but I usually don't put anything after a 1-indent closing brace, so the ending 0d 0a may be a coincidence.

Thanks.
