As I wrote, I will fix it. Ctrl+Del will delete in your case with repeating press:
spaces
$url
spaces
=
spaces
$base_url
...

Another bug: Ctrl+/ (comment/uncomment a line) never worked for me, in any language.

Looks like auto-save doesn't work in 787.

Checked and it works. It's available for languages supporting line comment by inserting chars on the begin of line.
If you use PHP and HTML multihighlighter, it won't work, cause HTML doesn't support such form of comment.

For user defined languages is special box for line comment format.

It was disabled when PSpad is minimized. I will remove this condition. But it works when you don't minimize PSPad

It doesn't work for UNIX Shell Script and Python for me. Is there any setting can affect this command? I just overwrite PSPad.exe when new release/beta released, and don't do anything with ini-files contain PSPad settings. May be there is some outdated setting which prevent command to work.

Can it be because of keyboard layout? I found this Czech layout on Microsoft, looks very different from the mine. In Russia, we use standard US keyboard layout. If this shortcut depends on scan code, can it affect on that?

When you call this command from Menu Format, does it works?

Try to delete KeyMap.ini (with not running PSPad) or from the menu format/ KeyMap press default button and restart PSPad.

You can also change shortcut in the proram settings / KeyMap

Yes.

Deletion of KeyMan.ini didn't help, corresponding line in the ini itself is:
aComment=Ctrl+/

I use PSPad under Windows 7. But, as I remember, this hotkey never worked, even in PSPad 4.x under Windows XP (if it was existed in that, I don't remember).

One more annoying thing I've found: Ctrl+Backspace removes a lot of extra characters. When cursor is placed to the quote character, it Ctrl+Backspace all characters to the beginning of line:
vhosts_dir + "/phpMyAdmin"
It's unusable now too. sad smiley
