GNUBIE:What does it mean: Unpack it with subfolders and replace existing files from the last full release.
I've downloaded the zip. I can open it, but then do what?
Regards,
GN
If you unpack the cab file, the resulting Folder should contain a structure of subfolders (for 4.5.4 beta - build 2315 there are subfolders Lang, Skin and script and several files in the main folder) - if it is your case, everything is ok; however, there are some unpackers (e.g. windows built-in support), which don't retain the subfolders and unpack everything in the main folder; some functionality - e.g. GUI languages ... of the program is then not available.
In that case you can use some appropriate unpacking tool, such as 7-zip
www.7-zip.org
The usual upgrade of a beta version overwrites the previous files of the full or the previous beta version - supposedly in a separate "testing" folder (after making sure, thet you won't overwrite any files, you have tweaked/modified).

Slow file loading
Any new about this fixing?

Hello
I find a bug in PSPAD (non only in the v2315), when i used FTP to edit a file and if the file is a LINK to a another file : the name is correct but I can't open it because PSPAD see a DIRECTORY and not a file. I think PSPAD has a problem with the link attrib.
Thank you
P.ALOY (France)

Dear Sir,
I've re-install PSPad-4.5.3(2298) and use "pspinst.exe" to upgrade PSPad-4.5.4(2315).
But "Slow file loading" problem still remains.
If I uninstall PSPad-4.5.3(2298) and install PSPad-4.5.4(2315) only, "Slow file loading" problem was realy fixed.
Did my upgrade process has any problem??
Thanks for your help!!
BR,
Eddie Chen

I'm not sure if this issue is fixed
PSPad takes about 5~8 seconds to open a 2MB, about 62000 lines C++ file.
Other editors such as UltraEdit, Notepad2, Notepad++, or MadEdit open this file much faster than PSPad.
PS:
Code Explorer and Line Wrapping are disabled.

There is a problem in Synedit architecture.
If you enable Scroll past EOL in the Program settings, speed increase.
I tried to discute with Maël Hörz (unicode branch Synedit leader) about this problem.

Thanks for the trick.
After enabling "Scroll past EOL", file loading speed increases dramatically.

Wow, it is already a good news, that you know where is the problem! Unfortunatelly I do not like this mode (Scroll over EOL), but still better than that slow loading. I hope, you both will be able to figure out something for solution.
Thanks for the good hint!

Full-screen bug still exists in Vista. Hitting "full screen" only maximizes window and hides min/max/close buttons. Vista taskbar still visible.
