In [Program Settings->HEX Editor], I've changed the value of "Bytes per Column".

If I open a file in PSPad then click [View->Hex Edit MODE], it always shows 2 bytes per column.

If I open a file from [Context Menu->PSPad Hex], it shows the number of bytes I assigned.

Why ? Is it a bug ?
I hope "the number of bytes per column" in [View->Hex Edit MODE] also can change according to the setting.

Similar behaviour with UTF-8 files. In HEX view it looks like unicode, whilst opening it as raw data in HEX editor shows you the real multi-byte nature, as well as correct byte-order mark.

If you switch from the text view into Hex view and you are using the unicode encoding, PSPad will display you in the hex editor 2 bytes per char.
No, it isn't bug.

Thank you Jan for your ever ongoing development of this brilliant editor. I have been using it for long time already (coming from UltraEdit), and I really like it very much. In fact like most people in this forum, I think it's the best editor around smiling smiley

In your new 4.5.0 release, there is one function missing that I was using very often to extract data from text files. It's the Copy non-matching option in the Find dialog. I have noticed it missing in the betas, but you had requested not to complain about missing features and you would put it all back in. Any chance that you will restore this function in a future release or beta? Until then I have to go back to version 4.3.3 to use this feature. Not the end of the world, but I would like to run only one version.

Best wishes for the new year!

Regards,
René
