Do you use any antivirus?

Tested:
Text file from desktop was open in Libre office
Same file I open in PSPad without any problem

I use Win10 x64 - standard install with no modifications as switch off UAC e.t.c. with ESET antivirus
Tested the same on Win7 x32 with same result - no lock.

Is possible I can see it "in live" using any remote access, e.g. teamviewer?
Or you can connect to my computer and I can show it to you.

Can somebody else test this behavior?

It seems it has to do with some old files in my pspad install.

I extraced the zip file in a separate directory, and now all goes fine.

What is the best method to install the latest beta? Remove everything, and work from this (limited) unzipped directory, or install the latest stable version, and overwrite the directory with the zip-contents?

Thx!

If you uninstall PSPad, you will lost settings.
The best way is reinstall (or replace from archive) existing version.

If you want to do clear install with old settings, you can backup your settings in Program settings / Backup
Now uninstall or delete folder and install/unpack new full version
Now use the same way in program settings / Backup and restore your backed up settings

Hello,

I did a clean install.

It did not work again sad smiley
I moved the PSPad Editor folder from my program-files to a temporary directory

At this point, I could open the logfiles

I moved the contents of the zip file in place of the PSPad Editor folder, and merged all files from my temporary location back into program files (except the modified files).

It still worked, what kind of surprised me

I re-imported my preferences, and at this point it failed.

I restored a working copy, so I'm happy now (I just will have to adjust my preferences as I encounter strange things - I didn't change that much)

Can my preferecence backup-cab file be of any use for you?
