Download build 4.5.7 from developer forum
Replace existing files
Go to program settings / Register file type
Add file types you want and press registr all

Hi, it's still not working. Here is the exact problem I have and how I try to fix it.
I want to associate .xml files to pspad on Windows 7, 64b.
I tried with Windows, using the "open with..." command.
When I double click an xml file, it does open pspad, but does not open the file. It keeps the previously opened files.
I then tried after installing the developer 4.5.7 version, using the file type association dialog of pspad and it's still not working (added xml, click register all).
The previous post gives a .exe file that I prefer not to open, knowing the this user only has one post. I'm ready to use a .exe (from pspad) or .reg (from anyone) file to fix the problem if that's easier/faster.

Thanks,

Francois.

PS: I do not have the problem on my WinXP computer, using PSPad 4.5.3

Same here, I've just installed 4.5.6 on a new win7 machine and cannot open files into PSPad by double-clicking from windows explorer - PSPad opens, but does not open the file. I have an installation of 4.5.4 on another machine from a few months ago, and never had a problem. Is there an archive for older versions available? I couldn't find one by googling.

Thanks for your reply Sektor, but like frozax before me I'm not keen to download and run files that don't come from PSPad themselves to resolve this issue. Can you explain what it does please? This might also help in the development of an official bugfix.
