#1 Files do not open

Posted by: Blues48 | Date: 2011-12-06 09:26 | IP: IP Logged

When PsPad is not running, right-clicking a file to open it with PsPad works fine. But once PsPad is up and running, the only way to load additional files into it is by browsing for them in PsPad's OpenFile command.

Double-clicking or right-clicking a file in the Windows-Explorer or other File Managers will do nothing at all if PsPad is alrady open. I have to close it first.

I have Multi-User enabled, but work from one user account only. Vista 32.

I have a likewise problem. Right click a file in Windows Explorer and open with Pspad, than Pspad opens but file is not loaded. It doesn't matter if Pspad is running or not.

Upgrade to 4.5.7 (2433) didnt help.

Windows 7 64

thx

I have the same problem, when I open a File with right click on a file in Windows Explorer and open it with Pspad, than Pspad opens a NEW file but not the selected one.

Windows 7 64

best regards,
Michael

Go to program settings / System, unregister PSPad from context menu, confirm and register it again

Doesnt work for me. Fresh install of Win 7 64 sp1. I am also experiencing the "File contents has changed. Reload?" bug.

Can you give me step by step to reproduce it?
Does PSpad run before or do you start it with your file?

I was able to narrow it down:
In my case, the problem persists only when I start up PSPad from within Speed Commander. If I start up from anywhere else, right-clicking or dragging files to an already running PSPad works fine.

Do you start your Speed commender under your account or administrator's account?

I run Speed Commander from my account (no admin rights)

PsPad is run as portable from a directory other than the system drive, but set to multi-user

Hi,

same Problem here. Not running Speed Commander or anything like this.

Win7 x64
pspad456inst_en

If i double-click a file associated with PSPad it wont open. PSPad starts and opens one of the previously opened files, but not the one i clicked on.

Best,
Xpect
