Your cursor is placed behind the last }-bracket (or in this line).
OK, I try a new description, maybe there's the problem.
Add the Code as before in a new PHP-document.
Put the cursor behind "{" (-> both brackets are highlighted)
Select the {-bracket (-> the selected {-bracket is now dark-blue and the }-bracket is still blue-highlighted)
Put the cursor to "if" -> {-braket is no more highlighted but the }-bracket is.
Hope you can reproduce it now.
This happens on at least 2 PCs im working on.

it can be reproduced, what is left is to know whether is synedit problem or not
1.- select that { with keyboard or not, doesnt matter
2.- move the cursor to anywhere BEFORE the symbol, not only the same line, and WITH THE MOUSE, with keyboard will not reproduce it as well as setting the cursor after the symbol

I've reproduced it.
you must select first bracket with mouse, then click with mouse on "if": the second bracket is on.

Hi, one problem with the normal "search and replace"...: I'd like to search in the following code for "true" (or ",true") and replace all with a blank string ("") (No futher options selected). I get 9 hits, but the new code is something like:
<div id="public_site_footer">
>
>
The original code was:
<div id="public_site_footer">
<div id="psf_z1"><a href="<?= createLink('impressum.php',true) ?>" >Impressum</a> | <a href="<?= createLink('agb.php',true) ?>" >AGB</a> | <a href="<?= createLink('datenschutz.php',true) ?>" >Datenschutz</a> | <a href="<?= createLink('unser_team.php',true) ?>" >Das Team</a> | <a href="<?= createLink('presse.php',true) ?>" >Presse</a> | <a href="<?= createLink('verrueckte_ding.php',true) ?>" >Das Verrückte Ding</a></div>
<div id="psf_z2"><a href="<?= createLink('regionalverzeichnis/index.php',true) ?>">Regionalverzeichnis</a> | <a href="<?= createLink('unternehmen.php',true) ?>" >Unternehmensanfrage</a> | <a href="<?= createLink('affiliate.php',true) ?>" >Webmaster-Partnerprogramm</a></div>

Can confirm that, looks like multiple replacements in one line with zero string results in bad replace.

Little bug with replace function.
When i try to replace something with "nothing" (for example, to erase tab characters from a text), from this release (2211) the entire line is replaced, minus the last char... very strange!
And when i replace something 2 times, the second time the first line is unavailable...
