Hi,
I just upgraded to the newest beta version 5.0.4 (395) x64, and it appears that the Text Diff function is broken.
When reverting back to the x32 version it is fine again.
Reading through the forum I found out that this x64 problem was reported before, but apparently has not been fixed yet.
Since this Text Diff function is a very useful feature for me, and I sometimes work with very large files, I would love to have this in the x64 version as well.
So is there any change that this will be fixed in the future?
Thanks.

Hello
Yes, in 64b version are still some problems. On the other side, there is no reason why to use 64b version, if you don't need to work with huge files.

OK, thanks Jan, I will keep an eye on it.
Thanks again for your great software.
Cheers.

I also suffer from the text diff issue in the 64bit version.
Microsoft stopped shipping Windows 10 32bit to OEMs.
64bit versions of Windows have a (Windows) market share of appx. 97%
Perhaps it's time to drop the 32bit version and focus on the 64bit version of PSPad.

Do you want to use 64b application only from reason you have 64b system?

Hi Jan,
I like PSPad, really good work
I use PSPad in the 64bit version for some time now to be able to work huge files.
Unfortunately, the Text Diff doesn't work in version 5.0.5 (567) neither.
I would like to gently encourage you to have a look at this feature
It is really helpful.
Regards
Hansi

Hello
Can you send me some example?

Hi,
yes,
just open two files with slightly different content:
line1=1
line2=2
line3=3
second file:
line1=1
line2=2.2
line3=3
and compare them (using the context menue at the tab)

64b version was fixed in 5.0.6 - available in the PSPad developer forum.
Same as HEX editor fix in 64b version
