Is there any way I can check for syntax errors in my code within pspad?

PSPad doesn't contains PHP server. You can use any external PHP commandline and set it as external application or compiler and call it to check your file

Open PSPad help and go to Menu description / Settings menu / Highlighter settings /Compiler settings / Compiler examples

There is example how to set PHP.EXE to check your syntax from PSPad
