4.5.6 (2427) Installer checksums differ

When I download the installer from brothersoft.com or via the FTP mirror, I get these checksums:

CRC32: CCE5993A
MD5: 648733A5C97F50143530816C3731C1CF
SHA-1: C743BCC0D8EA40A1A578FB17C80ED226368D164D

Downloading from the HTTP mirror pspad.cincura.net, the checksums are different:

CRC32: F80D4E36
MD5: 3E164289EBB552218AFAC46C3B953E01
SHA-1: 125822456F9087EC792C29660EB8289735E07627

What's the difference between these files? Why is the one from pspad.cincura.net different?

The ZIP files do not differ.

Brother soft has own cached version. I don't know why the checksum is different.
Cincura and SiliconHill are under my control - I am uploading files there. Brothersoft creates own copy when I told them.

After extracting and comparing the HTTP and FTP files, I believe the HTTP package contains outdated files.

For example, the modification dates of the files in the HTTP's "Lang" directory are all 2011 while those from the FTP package were changed in March 2012.

Contents differ as well, e.g. die FTP Lang files contain more strings than the HTTP Lang files, and mistakes have been corrected. The file "Context/CSS.DEF" contain the strings "last update: 26.10.2010" (HTTP) and "last update: 20.03.2012" (FTP).

Files in the following directories are affected:

Context
Convert
Lang
Script
Syntax
Template
root: TiDyCFG.ini

Yes I said the same thing a few days ago. The Brothersoft one contains a few different files in the installer which may explain some of the other things that are getting installed.

Thanks for the link. I checked the files again and it seems that the HTTP download, in addition to outdated PSPad files, contains some kind of adware which the FTP and brothersoft downloads do not.

I had not noticed this difference before because the adware inside the HTTP download appears to be offered only when setup has been able to establish an internet connection, which I didn't allow it to during my previous test runs.

I find it odd that the brothersoft download did not offer me any adware during the installation, but I'm certainly not complaining about it. ;)
