There seems to be some bug in highlighting leading vs trailing bracket:
image
Cursor on leading bracket is red.
CTRL+M moves the cursor to the right trailing bracket and highlights both brackets with the right color:

PSPad stops responding.
Without any error message, nor crash i have to close it with Task Manager.

File was PHP.
Multihighlighter.

i was about to write trailing comment marker "*/", but it stopped responding after the sign "*".

This is reproduceable.
The key is to write the trailing comment marker "*/" first. If i did write the leading comment marker "/*" first and then the trailing, then it did not crash.

There are some problems with PHP highlighter.

Fix is available in the build 639
pspad.poradna.net

Regards your bracket problem, there must be something in code and without code I can't find a problem. Is possible to send me at least part of code to support mail?

In a PHP file, PSPad does not detect the closing bracket, when there is a line break in an echo statement:

I wanted to add a comment to a PHP file, but as soon I hit SHIFT+7 to create a Slash /, PSPad stops working and closes.
It might be in my particular PHP file only, since it works fine in a new plain txt file - will investigate this a bit more later. It is a file, which hosts a collection of PHP functions, having about 780 lines. "HTML Multihighlighter" is in use, and code-page is "Unicode UTF-8 no BOM (65001)". It happens on line 9 as shown on this screenshot:
(Btw, the 'mixed' return type shown in the second function is'nt bold. I'm not sure, if this return type is already obsolete, but it compiles fine)
