I think the statusbar area width should be bigger, thus it can display Unicode chars better.

Some chars (such as Chinese chars) are double char, they need more spaces to display.

You can do that by setting the delay to 0:
Settings: Editor (part 2): Autocomplete delay [ms]: [ 0 ]

[this functionality is available from the build 2401 above; not in 2388 from this thread]
