When I open a file encoded in ANSI (Windows) PSPad sort of mangles all the § Signs. We sometimes use those in Perl code as delimiter for q and qq. With this version, they all vanish and after saving they are truely gone from the document. I spent the last 15 minutes searching the svn for the bad guy who broke my code until I figured out I did it myself.
I guess it's got something to do with the unicode updates. In previous versions it used to highlight the § in a different colour than everything else, btw.

Send me to support mail as mail attachment some file with '§' and write me what I want to do to simulate your problem

pspad:Ilya:How can I save another font's choice?
I've restarted PSPad, I've changed LOGFontName in the "Direct edit" - nothing - PSPad is restarting with default (or more right - main) "Courier New" font.
If I change the main font of the editor (Format->Font), the font of the LOG windows changes accodinglyI have to check it. There is something strange...
The problem is solved in 2319 Thank you!

PSPad 4.5.4 2317 seems to locks on UTF-8 what ever I switch to in the format menu or weither or not I set the automatic code page detection.
It insists on opening all ISO-8859-2 files as UTF-8, and it removes all cahracters like "éèàç", and the like.
The full content of a important big file has been totaly destroyed.
Never use this build!

Hi,
First, thanks for such a great freeware editor of Pspad.
I have met a problem like this question.
When I type a symbol as "*"(star) and press "Enter", it would append a "*" to the newline automatically.
I think it would not be safe for a editor using C/C++ language. Because symbol "*" mean a pointer in C/C++.
So, would you please give me a clue to disable the function or how to fix it.Thanks!!
