Hi!

Is there any effort to translate PSPad to Catalan?
If the translation is happening, how could I help?
If not, which are the steps to translate PSPad to Catalan, apart from
creating an Catalan.ini file for the language?

Thank u and congratulations for such a good tool

Hi Juan Fra

may i help you?

just take e.g. the english.ini
save it as "your_language.ini"
and translate the words behind the '=' char into your language.

e.g.
[Action List]
aRedo_Caption=Redo
aRedo_Hint=Redo Last Undo
aOpen_Caption=&Open...

[Action List] <=== DON´T translate this in brackets
aRedo_Caption=Redo <=== translate this after the = char (here "Redo")
aRedo_Hint=Redo Last Undo <=== translate this after the = char (here "Redo Last Undo ")
aOpen_Caption=&Open... <== keep care of & chars, the are for shortcut in menu / dialog boxes

Keep care of the length of your text to not came in trouble whit the space in PSPad.

I sugesst not to translate all that entrys, because there are
a many words the should be in english to feed the best sense.
(and englsih words are mostly shorter)

If u ones have a finished ini, and there are a new version of PSPad,
Jan have a tool to help u to find and translate the new entrys in the new ini.

Hallo Stefan!

First of all, thanx for your advice. I had deduced some of translation rules myself
but I was not aware about some of the things you explained me.

I some questions. May be any character that could lead to trouble if inserted
in the .ini file? I am thinking in catalan language characters as c cedille, vowels
with grave tildes, apostrophs and middle dots (i.e. "·")?
Second one is, could the catalan string length be so large that corrupt the
.ini file?

I induce from your e-mail address you are German, aren't you?

best,

Juan Fra

I think it´s better that Jan give u this answers.

I don´t think so. Only pity is, if your string is to long
for the 'space' in PSPad window \ dialog boxes or so,
the will be cuted automatically to fit that space.

>I induce from your e-mail address you are German, aren't you?
Yes, iam.

Hi all,
I would like to update a new catalan.ini file, after 5.0.3 version. All items tagged as ;;Translate are been translated.
For all previous translation, I think is a great job.

You can include in newer versions, if you like

Hi All.
After release of version 504, new strings have been included. I try my best in translating to Catalan. Here is the file (save as Language\catalan.ini in your PSPad folder): www.dropbox.com
Thanks a lot, Stephan, for including my suggestions in present version
