Re: Memory consumption - code explorer

Hello,
I've been using PSPAD for years, mainly in a Php / html / javascript context. It's an everyday tool that I particularly appreciate.

Regularly, I notice that Pspad's memory consumption gets high (sometimes 300MB, 500MB...) and never goes down, until I restart it.

Apparently, the code explorer is the cause of this consumption. On a complex program, just refreshing the Code Explorer will increase consumption by 4MB.

What PSPad version do you use?
I did some optimalization a time ago.

Hi, I use 5.0.7 (775).
I have read your history of changes. The behaviour is better than the 5.0.4 that I was using previously, but the problem is still there.
+ Another problem which was not in 5.0.4 : modified files do not appear as such in the file list.

Which list with modified files do you mean?

I mean, inside the tool panel at the left, the list of open files, with File name and Folder. This is how I work personally, sometimes with more than 30 files in this list. In the former versions, the names of modified files appeared in bold.

I understand now. With skins owner draw is limited. I will add symbol there to see modified files.

Just tested with PSPad 5.5.2 (not released yet) and PSPad doesn't increase memory consuption with code explorer.

I came here to get news about the PsPad versions and about my observations
-> memory consumption of the code explorer,
-> indication of modified files in the file list, and to report the issue of 'ÿ' appearing occasionally in files (reported elsewhere on the forum).

Regarding these 'ÿ', I hadn't noticed the issue in 5.0.4 but I see it regularly in 5.0.7 (775). This problem seems to occur exclusively with files encoded as 'Ansi Western European (1252)'."
