Tab numbering

#1 Tab numbering

5.0.7 (659), any

I often work with more than 9 tabs. The numbering ends at 9.
Increasing this to 99 would be helpful for me.

The reason for numbering is fast access to tab using hotkey Alt+Number
For more than "9" it isn't possible so numbering of the another tabs has no sense.
How it would help you?

When there are many tabs in multiple rows and I click on any tab that is not in the first row the the whole order of tabs changes. For instance it is not clear to me what happens when I close all files right from here. It would be more clear to have tab #1 always in the top left corner.

I did not know about that Alt + number smiling smiley

Hello
At first, you are able to sort tabs aphabetically (right mouse on any tab), you can drag/drop tabs and manually change their order. All of it will break tab number 1 to be in left top corner.
When you close any numbered tab, rest of the tabs are renumbered.

Switching lines of tab is given by windows control behavior, it's not my idea.
You can prevent switching tab lines by changing file tab style to buttons or flat buttons (program settings / Program 1)

Shift+Ctrl+O (menu Window) opens open file list with possibility to search/filtering by name and quick switch to tab.

Hi Jan,
the "Buttons" things made it. Thanks for that hint!
