I hope this is not the n.th Posting of the same error, but I found it not in the forum on a first look.
When I open a (Text) File with a double click (Windows 10), it is opened in PSPad. So far, so expected. But when I close this file (Tab) without exiting PSPad, PSPad stay open with a gray empty window, but the title (of the closed file) remains.
Bug or Feature?
Same, when I open PSPad from Windows Start (empty File "Neu 1.txt" in German), after closing, the title "Neu 1.txt" remains.
Not a really (really) important Error, more a confusing behavior
Have a nice day and thank you very much für PSPad!!!

Thanks for your reply, for the sake of completeness, I use the latest downloadable Version (5.06 from 8.4.21)!?
I assume, your version is not downloadable until yet. But I can wait

Download the current developer build from PSPad developer forum.
It's enough to replace PSPad.exe from this archive, yoou can backup your old and return it back if you would need.

I come back to this point because I discovered by chance exactly when this behavior occurs.
Image will be deleted in 1 month.
It is a differnce, *how* a file is be closed.
Case 1: One File is open, Filename is shown in title. After closing the file with Menu, the title is cleared right, showing PSPad (64).
Case 2: File is open, Filename is shown. Closing file with the small "x" on the right side of the Window, the file would be close, but the title remains (wrong).
For your info, not the most important thing in the world.
Kind regards, Detlef
PS: with forum version from today. 5.0.7 (638)

Thank you for info.
You are right, it isn't "big" problem, but anything deserves to be fixed.
