Yes, my assumption that it happens during the save process was indeed wrong. By pure chance I've seen this problem again within a file I've opened just for reading. So it happens even without typing just when scrolling through a file. The PSPad version I used when I saw it without saving or editing was 5.0.7 (701).

After opening a file, HTML, some strange characters popped up.

copying the resulting code was partial succesfull.

The characters after the y in the first column did not paste in this text...
It should read : <td></tr> , simply enough....

The HEX from the last <br> forward is
..3C 6272 3E0D 0AFF 003C 2F3F 3F00 0D0A 2020 3C74 643E 3C2F 7464 3E

version PsPAD 5.0.6. (589)

<tr>
<td><a href="./schilderijen/schilderijen_index.html">
<img align="middle" src="sch06.jpg" alt="schilderij 6"></a><br>
ÿ

But until the last update of PsPad , i never had any problems...

Hans.

How often it occurs?
What PSPad functionality do you use? Highlighters, FTP, ...
I need more details that simple message that it happens.

Hello Jan, sorry for the extremly short last post which I've only sent to inform you that this problem isn't gone even with the latest development build. I'm using PSPad with C/C++ sources on local filesystems only. When I started this thread I've sent you already code samples via email where I could reproduce this problem relatively often. I have this problem often enough that it is really annoying several times a week, sometimes every few minutes.
As I've written last weekend I've seen this problem the first time within a file where I didn't type anything nor did I save it. The settings of PSPad are more or less the default settings with the highlighter and code explorer for C/C++ being automatically active. Additionally I've enabled virtual space behind line endings and the automatic removal of whitespace from line endings. That's it.

Do you use 32b or 64b build?

Ok, sure. Do I need a full uninstall and reinstall for this or can I simply replace the binaries?
