Hello,
yesterday I was loading bootstrap.css (v2.1.1) file and PSPad freezed.
It happened all the times I tried. I think that is a problem with CSS syntax highlighter.
Version is 4.6.2 (2743)
If you need the original file I can send it to you via email with no problem.
Thanks for your support.
Best regards,
Stefano

Unfortunately, this bug persists.
Even with 5.0.0. (277) I have several big CSS files that simply can't be opened.
It crashes always.
Even if I try to switch off all Syntax Highlighting, rename
the file to .TXT, etc.!
Are you aware of this?
Do you need samples CSS files that causes this crashes?
Besides that, it seems that whatever I deactivate (MultiHighlighter, all Highlighter) PsPad ALWAYS activates it's highlighters!
Even if I try to do it with Admin-Rights, the selections do not change anything.
(Windows 10, 64bit, 1709)
I tried with Admin/no Admin, MultiUser On/Off.
PSPAD.INIs in both locations seem correct ([Highlighters] CSS=0).
I just don't know how to use PsPad any longer!

Can I get any CSS what causes this problem? Send it to support mail please
I guess it's caused by Code explorer. Can you try to switch it off and open your CSS?

There are only 2 "Code-Explorer" options under Settings->Tools.
When I deactivate them, all is the same.
Hint: I do use Code-Explorer quite rarely, so it is not set "visible" normally here.
But crashes in all cases.
Any other possibility to "deactivate" that?
Remember that my PsPad does also not react on the deactivation of all Highlighters...
Sample CSS files are on the way!

At least, I wonder if you could reproduce the issue with my files?

Hello
Yes, I am able to reproduce it. But can I ask why do you have some base64 encoded data, I guess on one long line witžh length more than 1 million chars in your CSS?

I can't really say this.
These are the standard default files of the shopsystem (Gambio) I work with.
Is there a way to deactivate all special handling of css, base64, etc.?
So that PsPad would just treat it like a normal textfile?
Today I uninstalled PsPad completely again, and manually deleted all remaining files and folders, restartet windows, installed V5 again.
Still, I'm not able to deactivate the Highlighters.
I can disable all and every of them and still PsPad is coloring the sources...

It is something that the SCSS compiler does.
I'm not familar with it.
I only have the choice to work with these compiled files.

OK, I tested the following:
When I deactivate the MultiHighlighter, that works.
Still it detects "CSS" in the Statutsline of the Editwindow.
While CSS Highlighter is not activated (Checkbox).
If I change the file extension in the CSS-Highlighter settings to *.cssX,
then the Highlighter finally gets deactivated!
But the crashes persist anyway.
So it seems to have to do with this base64 part.
Can I deactivate some other option for test?
