Posted by: Ruud | Date: 2013-06-23 09:41 | IP: IP Logged
Hello,
I'm using PSPad to edit ASM files. This morning I was editing a rather huge file, about 480 KB, I added a lot of comment and the highlighter feature was gone: all text in plain black. Remark: you will only notice this after a restart of PSPad.
I did some experimenting and I found out that it has to do with the size of the file: about 489 KB is the limit.
In www.baltissen.org you'll find three files:
C64-leeO.asm = the original file
C64-lee.asm = the altered file, just extra info added
tmp.asm = file I used to find out what caused the problem, it is just a
big part of the second one.
FYI: these are source codes of the ROMs of a Commodore 64.
I hope this helps.
I understand this is not a severe bug, just a bit irritating. So take your time
And just in case if it hasn't be said enough: GREAT program !!!
Kind regards, Ruud Baltissen

There is a file size limit to switch on highlighter.
Go to program settings / Direct edit.
Increase value of HLUpToSize
e.g.
HlUpToSize=500000
