Hello,
I use PSPad 5.5.1 (64b) and my post here forum.pspad.com did get no answer. Probably the thread is too old meanwhile and so I open a new one with my question:
I have a file from a web-page, utf-8 no bom coded, and it contains a few german special characters "Ü" as code C39C and ps-pad always opens it with the ansi codepage 1252.
I've set the default codepage to utf-8 no bom in the PSPad program settings -> files and directories, but ps-pad still opens the file with the ansi codepage and the word Überschuss always comes as Überschuss.
What can I do that PSPad opens my files correctly?
Michael

Hello
If there is no BOM and only few characters on the page somewhere, it's hard to recognize, that it's UTF-8 encoded. The difference between UTF-8 and ANSI are the chara from #128 and above.
Switch on the Save file state option in the program settings/ files. PSPad will remeber the state as you save your file.

What do you mean with save file state option? Can't find it.
btw. How to include an image here? I see the img button and then? If I paste here the link to the picture, I only see the linktext in the preview.
