When I open my *.aspx in PsPad 5.5.1 x64 it opens it as Encoding 1252 even if
I set file as UTF-8 with no BOM

encoding 1250 it also detects as 1252 ?

It look like this new PsPad could not detect correctly encoding ?

My friends also noticed this, so if you are not paying attention to encoding you can break your file with wrong encoding which is automatically set to 1252, so far only thing that works is to set file to UTF-8 With BOM.

Only files with BOM will be correctly detected

If file doesn't contains any special chars or accented chars, the file content is same in utf-8 no BOM and CP1250 encoding. PSPad has no chance detect it.

Till version 5.0.7 this worked fine, it started with this 5.5.1 version.

There was no change in code page detection between 5.0.7 and 5.5.1
Ensure, you have enabled Save file state option in the program settings / Files
It will remember code page for your previously open files too.
