Re: PsPad inserts characters into the files

I don't know exactly since when this happens, but whenever I open a file, PsPad appends an empty line to that file. It does not mark the file as changed, though, so the additional line is only saved to the disk if I make other changes to the file.

2. The second problem is more serious, but it does not heppen very often, somethiing like twice every week. Sometimes, a strange character (its always the same character) is inserted at the beginning of a line, most of the time (maybe even only in such a line) in a line that consists of only spaces and a closing bracket "}"

When I make changes in other places of the file and save the file, the saved file contains this garbage character (line 388 in the picture)

It's always the same character, and I think (I am not sure) that happens only with lines that contain a single closing bracket like in the picture. the "ÿ" obviously replaces the first space of the line, because the closing bracket remains aligned with the block above

Please can you do something about this problem? It is really ennoying.

Hi! Haven't been around here in a long time.

I've been using (and recommending to everyone) v5.0.4 (543) because it's impossible to live with the random character problem. I lost access to important files because information got chewed up by these random characters. I came by to see if PSPad had gotten past this road block yet; it's been so long! I don't know wy v5.0.4 (543) doesn't have it if all the other newer versions are stuck with it.
