#1 Change XHTML.DEF

Posted by: Piotr | Date: 2024-04-18 06:53 | IP: IP Logged

Hello,

I change the content of the file:

Program Files (x86)\PSPad editor\Context\XHTML.DEF

After saving the file, I see my changes, but PSPad does not see these changes.
What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Program setting / html multihighlighter
What is set a html multihighlighter base? HTML or XHTML?

XHTML.def is for .xhtml file extension. If you need it for .html, you need to modify HTML.DEF

Template File name = extension of the file you use

Hi,
the path:
...\Program Files (x86)\PSPad editor\...
is likely a protected folder in windows, the changes are possible only with administrator rights for the editing program (otherwise the saving is "masked" and hasn't any effect).
Alternatively, a portable installation of PSPad can be moved to some not-protected folder, or a multiuser mode cam be used, where theses files are stored in an accessible user folder.

Pspad settings: Program settings: System integration
[x] Multi user environment

Thank you for your replies

I've changed files this way before.
It worked.
I don't know why it doesn't work now

I see the changes in Windows Explorer.
PSPad doesn't see them

If your file extension is .html, you need to change content of the HTML.DEF file

Or try menu File / New (Ctrl+N) and choose XHTML from template list
