Posted by: Robert | Date: 2023-11-22 21:07 | IP: IP Logged

I am new to PsPad, runnig the Portable installation 5.0.7. (775) from local HD under Win11.
a) where are the recorded macros stored (for viewing and editing)?
b) I would like to start a PsPad macro via CLI to process a designated file and save it to a designated location.

a) where?
b) where to find help to acieve this?

Efficient help would be greatly appteciatet and followed by donation.

Thanks, Robert

Macros are stored in the subfolder .\Macro
You can start macro using Tools / Macro (macro manager, shortcuts, menu)

If you use portable version and you stored it into Program Files, there is nothing stored, cause no application has right to write there. Move your PSPad folder out of system protected folder like Program Files

Dear PsPad,

Thanks a lot for your speedy reply.

The portable edition is not installed on protected foldes like c:\Program Files.
However my directory c:\Users\User\Downloads\PSPad_editor_StickVersion\Macro\
is still empty after terminating the macro recording and restarting PsPad.

It does not look like a macro was saved after excecution:
c:\Users\User\Downloads\PSPad_editor_StickVersion\Macro\ <DIR> 22.11.2023 20:28
c:\Users\User\Downloads\PSPad_editor_StickVersion\Plugins\FileType\ <DIR> 22.11.2023 20:15
c:\Users\User\Downloads\PSPad_editor_StickVersion\pspad507en_x64.zip 13,957,663 22.11.2023 20:14
c:\Users\User\Downloads\PSPad_editor_StickVersion\Template\default.rss 769 22.11.2023 20:15
c:\Users\User\Downloads\PSPad_editor_StickVersion\PSPad_Err.log 23,659 22.11.2023 20:33
c:\Users\User\Downloads\PSPad_editor_StickVersion\PSPad.ini.bak 14,604 22.11.2023 20:34
c:\Users\User\Downloads\PSPad_editor_StickVersion\PSPad.ini 20,398 22.11.2023 20:54
c:\Users\User\Downloads\PSPad_editor_StickVersion\PSPad_MU.ini 23 22.11.2023 20:54
c:\Users\User\Downloads\PSPad_editor_StickVersion\Recent.ini 494 23.11.2023 08:03

Under Tools->Macro->Macroexec (F5)is the given macro name displayed, but PSPad does not react on cliking this item. The Macro manager is completely empty.

Are my findings the expected results?

In meantime I had a look in the help file provided. In 'Command line parameters' and 'Available Switches' are certain options listed but it seems a macro execution on start up is not forseen.
Is this realy true? Is no improvement in your pipeline?

I realy like PsPad and your quick an competent support.
Very best regards, Robert

Hello
In this case you don't use portable version.
If you really want portable version - all configs stored in pspad folder, go to program settings / system integration and uncheck multiuse environment
