Use tab character

Is it possible to insert a tab character in a file when the tab key is pressed, instead of spaces?

I have tried to activate the feature through
Program settings - tab instead of spaces
but pspad still inserts spaces when I press tab.

In the program settings / Editor 2
check Real tabs, Smart tabs must be unchecked
This is a general settings

Spaces/Tabs is possible to set on the highlighter level for each highlighter in the menu settings / Highlighter settings / specification tab.
Checkbox there has 3 states - checked, unchecked / Greyed (accepts global settings)

Highlighter settings has higer priority than program settings

I am sorry, it does not seem to work. Here are my settings for ini-files. Still, PSPad inserts spaces when I press tab. According to your answer, the Highlighter settings should override the global settings.
