You are here: PSPad forum > English discussion forum > Feature request: Startup parameter for text-search
Posted by: rseibel | Date: 2019-03-13 08:54 | IP: IP Logged
Hello,
for so many years i am waiting for a startup / command line parameter to pass a search string or pattern (regex) to jump to the first matching place in the document.
I use a very special ide for developping database applications and it woukd be VERY helpful to start editing after compiler errors at the first error place. Using a line number parameter is not possible in my case.
Hoping for consideration and realisation
Regards,
Roger

Hello
Sorry for delay. On the end of the year I was exhausted with my work for my employer.
It is only little better now, but I started work on PSpad.
Your request is implemented, will be available in the next build
/S or -S for normal search
/SR or -SR for regular expression search
syntax:
pspad "path\file" /SR "some regular expression"
If there will be more files sent, search will run on the last one.

Sorry, change. The swtch /S is used for highlighter, so switch for search will be /F or /FR as alternative -F or -FR
