#1 Format in a single line

Posted by: Esgrimidor | Date: 2017-08-19 13:41 | IP: IP Logged

I am using a quotes program that presents quotes or citations in a desktop window.
the quotes or phrases are read from a txt file where each quote is a line.

I want to use to put jokes. Some jokes are conversations in several lines.

I am using a \ to indicate the moment of carriage return o change of line.

The Window Size in this program configurated is :
Max. Width 640 , Max. Height 480

How can i create in a single line the effect of carriage return ?

Best Regards

I think you have to read the manual of your quotes programm to figure out how to setup multiple lines in one phrase.

How can with pspad convert this string in several lines in one ?

LARRY is in Room 232 at the Hospital
\n
\n
\nOkay, you are asking who in the hell is 'Larry'.
\n
\nLarry gets home late one night and, Linda, his wife says, 'Where in the hell have you been?'
\n
\nLarry replies, 'I was out getting a tattoo.' 'A tattoo?' she frowned.
\n'What kind of tattoo did you get?'
\n
\n'I got a hundred dollar bill on my privates,' he said proudly.
\n
\n'What the hell were you thinking?, she said, shaking her head in disgust. 'Why on earth would an accountant get a hundred dollar bill tattooed on his privates?'
\n
\nWell, one, I like to watch my money grow. Two, once in a while I like to play with my money. Three, I like how money feels in my hand.
\n
\nAnd, lastly, instead of you going out shopping, you can stay right here at home and blow a hundred bucks anytime you want.'
\n
\nLarry is recovering in room 232 at the Hospital.

Make a oneliner out of multiple lines?

Use Edit-"lines manipulation"-"join lines".

In Settings there is on option so you can use space as a separator.

I am having a strange problem for me with the formatting of the text.

When trying to format a converted image in ASCII text and insert in the text the code in the beginning of each line it goes near the image.

PSPad did exactly what you toldd to do. You want to insert \n on the begin of each line (see the dialog) and PSPad did it. What exactly do you want to do?
If you want to insert it on the begin of line but not on the start of text on each line, choose option "Antes del carácter"
For my opinion is better to insert it on the line end than line begin

Understood.

I have applied before character 0 with good results. The important thing about pspad here is its flexibility.
