Hello All,
My PC have blue screened (probably due to a RAM error), and my todo.txt file which I was using that time got corrupted.
The size is around the same, but if I try to open it it opens as hexadecimal with content of full 0000.
My PC/PSPad setup is the default, so no previous version enabled in windows 10, and backup disabled in PSPad, and my last online backup of the file is 2 years old
Is there any way to recover the file, some temp directory or anything?
Thanks in advance,
Sanca

Hello
PSPad doesn't write zeroes as content. I guess it's result of your bluescreen.
If you didn't switch off restore poits, download and use Shadow Explorer utility. It allows you mount any restore point and copy your file from it.

Not that I now of. I make backup files each 1-2 weeks to a flash/thumb drive.
I know what you mean. I've made similar mistakes and learned to make backups.

FlashDrive as backup media? This is the worst type of media for backup you can choose.

Thank you for your answer.
I will try out Shadow explorer today evening (I haven't change anything from default in my Windows 10 Pro).
Thanks,
Sandor
