Re: Textfile .. but "Hex Edit MODE" is on .. why?

Hello

When I edit a text-file .. PSPad disables the "Hex Edit MODE" automatically.

Today I edited a text-file as usual. After I exited PSPad .. and I wanted to edit again the same text-file .. PSPad automatically enables "View -> Hex Edit MODE".
Why?

I cannot disable the "Hex Edit MODE" as long as that textfile still open.

What should I do with this textfile so that I can edit it like a textfile again.

When you edit Text file, HEX view mode isn't disabled. There is no reason for it.
Can you give me example how to simulate disabled hex edit mode?
I talk about menu View / Hex edit mode

I want to upload the 2 textfiles as examples .. but I don't know how.
I cannot find the button to upload a file to the forum.

I only click at the filename.txt .. PSPad load this "textfile" as a "binary" file.

I use PSPad mostly as a text editor.

How can I upload Screenshot-files (.jpg)?

OK. If PSpad opens file as binary, the reason is the file contains chars, what are not allowed in text file.
In this case finction switch to Hex mode is disabled, cause it has no sense view file in hex mode, if file is open in hex editor.
If you want to switch off binary detection, go to program settings / direct edit button. Change value:
autodetectbinary=0
