Right mouse on file tab and choose split horizontally or vertically
or
Use menu File / Open special / Open R/O copy of active file

When I "Open R/O copy of active file" it opens the files in horizontal tile. What I would like to do is open two files in seperate windows so I can dock one on my main monitor and dock the second file on my second monitor.

Thank you

OK, you need to open file in new PSPad instance.
Start PSPad with /N and file name parameter

You can make a link in favourite tab to open PSPad.exe /N "%File%"
