#1 how to turn off a kind of instanced hilighting?

Hi,
I pressed some keyboard shortcut by accident and activated some function that I have never used before and now I need to turn it off smiling smiley
Hoping for some help here, pls.

What happens now is, when I hold shift and press the arrow keys to make a selection (editing a simple .txt), say I select letters "abc" and when I do, all instances of the selected text get highlighted in the open document.

I am sure it is a very useful function, but all I want is to turn it off grinning smiley
Searched Key Map for something suspicious, but cannot find anything.

Thanks in advance for any kind help!

Best smiling smiley
K
