#1 Options "write to PSPad folder" not enabled

Posted by: teddyd | Date: 2020-10-31 17:12 | IP: IP Logged

Hello,

i have installed PSPad (5.0.3.377) on a new Windows 10 Professional (64 bit).

Unfortunately I can't control the options that require write access to the PSPad directory (Splash Screen, Multi User Environment, Only One Program Instance). The checkboxes are greyed out.

My Windows user has admin rights.

I have already tried a lot:

- Mobile version installed in own directory
- PSPad.exe started as administrator
- Directory rights checked, are present

What else can I try?

Thanks for your tips!

For some options you have to start pspad as administrator to allow write in the pspad folder. It's one time ooeration. After settings you can run pspad "normally"

I am sorry, there is bug in 5.0.3 version. It was fixed in 5.0.4, what is available in the developer forum

As alternative you can edit manually file pspad_mu.ini, what is located in the pspad folde (don't edit it in pspad)

I deleted 5.0.3 and installed my last used version 4.6.2. And it works perfect for my needs.

I will wait for the next new stable version and try again.

Thank you for developing such a great tool!!

You can install 5.0.3. If you replace content with 5.0.4, it will work again
5.0.4 is available in the PSPad developer forum
