To be honest I've been seeing this behaviour for a couple of builds now.

A small bug that it has been persisting for a while: if I select a *single* line and press CTRL-H (Replace) the "Scope" it's set to "Global" rather than "Selected text".

This is behavior by design, not a bug. And user wish.
Find more users who will want to change it and I will change it or make it optional.

but it does not have any sense. if i have selected text than I expect the replace to refer to the selected text...

Would you like to have 'Selection only' preselected by default even if your selection contains a single word? Or even a single character?

Dunno how much 'hardcore' I am, but I quite appreciate current behaviour: if my selection does not overlap a line scope, replace is 'Global' by default. This fits the case you are writing about: selection is form the start of line to its end, and no further. I usually select a line by {2×home}{shift+down} keystroke sequence (and, CMIIW, there is no built-in action for 'select line' operation in PSPad). In this case selection contains line-break and thus 'Selection only' is preselected, what typically fits exactly my needs. You may try to do it this way too, maybe you'll like it.

thanks, that indeed works. the way I do it is {2xhome}{shift+end} and this way is not working smiling smiley So, I still consider it to be a very small bug. I'll just adjust my behaviour. thanks a lot for taking the time to write!

News
Search/Replace - PSPad will keep position when nothing is found
Search file from log priority change - PSpad search in compiler folder first, then in project and open files
File detection mechanism was rewriten

Hi Jan,
Thanks for the update.
Thanks for making the change to the Search/Replace.
The Search file from log priority change, however, does not work for me. It still finds a different file. Could it be that the file path has forward slashes in it? I doubt it since the LOG parser looks correct...
My error message looks like:
ssh/openssh/log.c:69: error: expected blah, blah, blah
The LOG paser debugger show Results:

File name (%F): ssh\openssh\log.c
Line(%L): 69

as expected.

My Compiler default directory is:
l:\work\nnssht\ssh

and I can find the file at:
l:\work\nnssht\ssh\ssh\openssh\log.c

Is there anything I can do here?

Thanks again,
chuckf

The 2405 build didn't solve the external file change detection
example: open a text file in pspad
open the same file in notepad
do some changes in notepad + save
go to pspad: there is no longer a message that the file has been changed?
sometimes it works but mostly not...
in previous versions there was no problem
