In Firefox and Thunderbird you can switch tabs by pressing Ctrl+<number key>, where Ctrl+1 takes you to tab 1, Ctrl+2 to tab 2, etc... Ctrl+9 takes you to the last tab. I would welcome this feature to PSPad too, because now I need to do a lot of Ctrl+Tab-ing or Ctrl+Shift+Tab-ing to switch to the file I want to edit.

In PSPad works standard MDI interface F6/Shift+F6 or Ctrl+TAB/Shift+CTRL+TAB
You can use Alt+number for first 10 tabs
If shortcuts doesn't work for you, it means you play with key map settings in PSPad. To reset it into default open Program settings / Key Map
Press Default button and restart PSpad
