Hello,
It seems there is a problem with save functionality.
In a specific configuration, you cannot save your file.
It happens when you use PSPad from VirtualBox (under Windows XP) AND you modify a file from a VirtualBox Shared Folder.
I have the following error:
Error saving file "H:\test.txt"
Otherwise, it works very well if you save a file from any others folders.
More, if I switch from another application and return into PSPad, it tell me that file content has changed.
If I reload it (answer Yes), the content is corrupted.
For example, I have a simple file with the string AZERTY inside.
I open it with PSPad and add a second line. So I have
AZERTY
FOO
When I reload it, I have this:

For information, I am using the last beta v4.5.5 (2884)
I hope you could fix it in the next release.
Please, let me know if you need more informations.
Lolo.

Both file was possible to save.
Please tell me condition how to simulate it.

3.1.4r57640
Thanks for your response.
I will try to give you more informations.
In attachment, a screenshot of my Shared Folder configuration.

My virtual machine is under Windows XP SP3 (with all patch from Microsoft)
I have no antivirus and no firewall.
All my hard drive are in NTFS but without any particular right.
I simply edit any file from any folder on any shared folder.
And if I try to save it with PSPad I have the previous error message.
I have done some tests and it is particularly strange.
It only happen on Shared Folder (see screenshot in attachment)
If I create an empty file (from windows explorer), open it with PSPad, modify it and save it => it works
But, if I open again the same file, complete it and try to save it => I have the error message: Error saving file : I:\test.txt
I have the same behavior if a create a new file, modify it, save it one time and directly save it a second time.
And, more strange, if I edit the file in hexadecimal mode in order to modify it, I can save it.
I have try to map a network folder on my Shared Folder (in order to access it easily) but I have the same behavior.
I hope it could help you.
If you need more details, please let me know.
I can also make a video if you want.
Thanks.

OK. I found a one thing. Is file is unicode/utf_8, you can save it. If file is in ANSI, you get error message.
I start to look for a problem.

You are right.
It is exactly that.
Save Unicode files work but ANSI failed.
I hope you will be able to fix it.
Thanks and have a nice day.
Lolo.

Hello,
>I found and fix problem even I don't understand why it causes exception
You have fix the problem with error only but if you reload your file, you will see that it is broken.
For example:
- Create a new file from Windows explorer (call it Test.txt)
- Now open it with Notepad and type any text (AZERTY for example)
- Now open it with PSPad and add text at the end of the file and save it.
Now, press Ctrl + R => you can see that the file is broken
I hope you will be able to fix it.
Thanks and have a nice day.
