tabulator replaced by spaces

if "trim trailng spaces" mode is on, (and "real tabs" of course) and you type in tabulators at the end of a not empty line, and then type in a character -- the space is not filled up by tabulators but by spaces.

also sometimes the undo funktion gets forgetful in this mode.
