carbonize:No I cannot replicate this neither but is he on Windows 7 or on 2003 ?
Carbonize, my co-worker uses WinXP Pro sp3 on his desktop. We share the same server, Win2003. I use Windows 7 on my laptop and can reproduce the "Reload" problem at will.
If others see the problem only with Windows 7, the question is: How/when does Windows 7 commit a file to disk and mark the file as modified? When saving via PSPad, does Windows immediately flush the write buffer or is it flushed when the browser requests the newly saved file? The "Reload" problem might be explained if the latter is true.

That's interesting. There's one aspect I haven't tested... I'm on a laptop and use offline file synchronization to take a copy of my network files with me. Perhaps the sync process is causing the problem.
I'll do a little more testing to see if I can isolate and confirm my theory.

I have exactly this problem also with Win 7. I have a multi monitor environment.

Did you use 4.5.5. build from PSPad developer forum? New file bug should be fixed

I am also experiencing this bug. This is using v4.5.4(2356)
I have two machines with Windows 7 Ultimate, one is a desktop and one is a laptop.
They are on a Homegroup. The laptop connects to the Desktop Homegroup.
When I edit a file in PSPad on the laptop, if PSPad loses focus and then regains focus, I am told that the file contents have changed.
This happens every time without fail, but seems to take around 10 seconds after the file has been saved before it alerts me.
The time on both machines has been synchronized.
I never had this problem until I moved to Windows 7.
I would be very grateful if a fix to this could be found and I am happy to test further.
In the meantime can the alert be disabled?

Hello,
First of all, congratulations for PSPad, it is a great software.
I also encounter this "reload?" problem since I upgraded to win 7.
Before that, I was using win XP and all works fine (PSPad 4.5.4.2356)
I have just tried to upgrade to PSPad 4.5.5 beta 2374 and that doesn't fix it.
May be the problem is related to network drives, because when I save a file on my local computer, I can't reproduce the bug.
The server is under win 2k3 and it is in the same domain that my desktop computer.
The clocks of the server and the local computer seems to be synchronized.
I access the network share through a mapped network drive.
I haven't tried UNC path yet.

Hello,
I have exactly the same problem than dozern (with v4.5.5 build 2374).
It seems that PSPad does not detect when files are modified on network folder.
It is particularly annoying when working with several users on same files because PSPad does not prevent that file has been modified.
I hope it could be fixed in a future release.
Thanks and have a nice day.
