#1 Clips for .md Markdown file do not work with hotkeys

Windows 7
PSPad 5.0.0 (271)

I have created a "markdown (muti).def" file via Settings, Edit Clip Definition file, which contains this:

; PSPad clip definition file for Markdown (Multi)
; author: Chaz
; last revision 24. Jun 2018 09:46
;
[ftntref|footnote ref]*CTRL+ALT+Q
[^§]

[HTMLcomment|HTML comment]*CTRL+ALT+P
<!---
§
-->

In general, I want to surround selected text with some other stuff. One is hotkey combination is to put HTML comments around selected text. This is mapped to CTRL+ALT+P. However when I hit CTRL+ALT+P, nothing happens.

I have even restarted PSPad to see if it could pick up the changes but I can't get my custom key combinations to work.

How do I get this to work with .md files I'm editing?

Thank you.

Square bracket is not allowed: gogogadgetscott.info

Note: You cannot have a line in your clip content that starts with the open square bracket, [ character as this marks the beginning of the next clip definition.

Also you have to use a space between alias and the description

[name |x description]*shortcut
