#1 Wish: build-in SSH support

Posted by: MadCompie | Date: 2015-04-02 10:38 | IP: IP Logged

I have no problems with PSP!

Perhaps a feature request is integrating some SSH support (using Putty or their psftp ?) so that we can not only open files thru FTP but also thru SFTP...

Should be the ultimate add-on!

Hello,

For my part I use winscp as windows client for sftp/scp file transferts.

When I am connected to server, I browse directories to find the file I want to edit, and then I click on it to launch edition (depending file extension, windows configuration,etc..) file is directly opened in pspad : if not just set external editor configuration in winscp to use pspad).

Pspad works on a local temporary copy of files, and when I save the file in editor the file is automatically synchronized on remote server.

To complete process, I use winscp to maintain a local copy of my remote version of file as local reference/backup, if needed.

Very useful and performing workflow, used every days since a lot of years ;)

This works indeed. I do the same thing with Filezilla.
If integrated in PSP it would save a lot of clicks and confirmations, just a simple [Ctrl+S] would do the job!

#4 SFTP solution via free tunneler

Posted by: kr37 | Date: 2015-06-22 04:43 | IP: IP Logged

I just tried this out and it seems to work perfectly: Bitvise makes a tunneling program that takes FTP from PSPad and makes it SFTP. Bitvise SSH Client is free for use on four machines.

I found the instructions on some hosting company's website, and it is super simple to set up:
webhosting.platon.org

Download:
www.bitvise.com

Hope this helps. I'm not affiliated with either entity. Just love PSPad.

I use also the Bitvise-SSH Client.
Start the Programm multiple times.
Use an other Listen-Port number for the FTP Bridge
21,1021,2021 etc.
Setup the FTP Profiles in PSPad acordingly.
Then you can use it with mutliple domains at the same time.
