Hello, I am using PSPad 4.5.7 (build 2450).
I can't for the life of me figure out why ...
When I return to PSPad, there is a 5 to 10 second delay before I can do anything.
It is the only app that does that on my computer (windows xp, sp3).

I am sure that it is a setting that I've missed. I have tried playing with all of the settings to figure it out but it can be frustrating at times at i go back and forth from my browser to PSPad during testing.

Any ideas ?

Mike

Do you open files from the network or some unavailable mapped dives?
When you return to PSPad, it checks file changes.
Try this:
go to program settings / Direct edit button
change to: CheckDocChanges=0

Yes I do make changes to files over the network.

Made the change you suggested and that has hughly improved the performance.
OMG that has changed my perspective of PsPad immensely. Thank you so much !!

As i scroll up and down within my code I at times loose track of my functions.
Is there any way to make the line that all functions are on be a different color or even the word "function" be of different color ?

Did you try to use Code explorer? Menu Tools or Shift+Ctrl+E
