I've just installed the portable version of PSPad 4.5.7 (2450) but no I find the context menu (right-click a file to open it in PSPad) is no longer available. This could be due to the fact that I deleted an earlier version of PSPad after installing the newer portable version. Anyway, does anyone know how to get the context menu back? I've tried unchecking and rechecking the "Register in system context menu" item under "System Integration" in the program settings but this has no effect. Is there a workaround?

LOL no it's in a folder on a partition for if I have to reinstall Windows.
Yeah that seems to have fixed it. Might want to remove the (Vista 64) text from that option.

This rests in English translation. I let there x64 only.

Jan, "x64" only would include WinXP 64-bit also. Is that fine?
And... would you please explain details why for 64-bit
we have to use the registry for integration?
I mean, it's about the "64-bit" part, right? Not just because UAC per se?
And BTW:
deutsch.ini
;rShellRegistry_Caption=Registry (Vista 64)
rShellRegistry_Caption=Registry (x64)
;ShellRegistry_Hint=Benutze die Registry (nötig für Vista 64-Bit) zur Integration
rShellRegistry_Hint=Benutze die Registry (nötig für 64-Bit ab Vista) zur Integration
.

Thanks, problem solved. I thought the registry method wouldn't apply because I'm using WinXP

Yes, cause shell extension DLL is 32 bits. Registry way works in both 32 and 64 systems
