#1 PSPad window title with project-name

Posted by: padfox | Date: 2013-06-12 08:54 | IP: IP Logged

Hello again,

I have some instances of PSPad open with different projects. Because I want to automate switching between these instances, I need a way to distinguish the instances. The window title of PSPad instances looks like
PSPAD - [FilePath\FileName.FileExt]
So the window title is dependant of the current active file/tab.
Is there a way to add the name of the current project to the window title?

Many thanks and greetings

Done. It will be available in the next developer build. I hope this weekend.

Hello again Jan,

newly-discovered - a late christmas gift - many thanks! I have only the problem that the short form is displayed. e. g. PROJEC~1 (eight chars). I don't need the path (would be too long and two projects open with the same name in different folders is unlikely). Just the name of the project, without extension, e. g.
PSPad - PROJECT_Name1 [FilePath\FileName.FileExt]

Many thanks and greetings

Hi, would it be possible to make this into an option somewhere in the general or project settings please? I do use projects but would appreciate to see what the current active file is in the task bar, thanks.

From Windows Vista you see program icon on the statusbar.

By default you see only an icon, yes, but you can change the settings to see the wide icon and full name in the taskbar (as it was before Vista)

I know. It's no problem to make it configurable.
What about to do it same way as title? Project - file name

I fear that having "Project - File Name" would be too long to fit into the wide taskbar icon.

I'd simply make an option "Display project name in the taskbar: on/off". It could go to the project settings but I'll leave that up to you. Thanks a lot.
