Did you read attached help?

Download and unpack dictionary(ies) into .\Spell subfolder
Run Spell settings (Ctrl+F7) from menu Settings in PSPad and choose dictionary

You can enable online spell check what will mark "bad" words or run Spell Check manually from menu Tools (F7)

Press Ctrl+F7 or in menu settings / Spell settings choose your dictionary first.

I've just installed PSPad and it looks to have everything that I need.

I thought that the spell-checker didn't work but a closer inspection of the downloaded dictionary shows that it contains many words not found in other English dictionaries, hence it is not picking up my spelling mistakes. For example if I mis-spell 'more' as 'mure' it is not picked up.

Is there another (English) dictionary that can be used instead? The main reason that I selected PSPad was to have a spell-checker in my HTML editor.

Press Ctrl+F7 (Spell Settings) and set English dictionary
PSPad spells text in HTML code only

Thanks but that is what I did. The problem is the dictionary file doesn't reflect English spelling.

OK. You unpacked CAB file and English,.dic you put into Spell subfolder.
After it you choose dictionary in Spell settings

Only thing what can prevent spell check is active WordWrap mode. Can you switch it off please?

Using PSPad v4.5.7 (2437). Downloaded the English spell check dictionary. Unpacked it. Placed the file English.2-1-0.dic in the \Spell subdirectory. Opened PSPad, went to spell settings, and the Dictionary selection windows is empty. No dictionaries to choose from.

Spell folder must be subfolder from the PSPad.exe location.
Ctrl+F7 should show you list of available languages
