Local PHP Server and PSPad?

#1 Local PHP Server and PSPad?

Posted by: David.Boettcher | Date: 03/15/2012 11:35 | IP: IP Logged

I am using PHP "includes" to build some aspects of my pages such as the navigation, but when I use the PSPad internal browser to check the pages before upload, the PHP includes don't show.

I understand that I need to install a "local PHP server" on my PC, like WAMP, but I don't know how to do this so that it works with PSPad. Are there any instructions on how to do this? I have searched the PSPad help and this forum but I didn't find anything.

Install a WAMP such as XAMPP and then open PSPad.

Click on settings
Then Program Settings...
Then Web server

Fill in the location of teh public folder for the server (with XAMPP it's the htdocs folder) and set a port on server if required otherwise just localhost will do.

Then when working with PHP store the files in the htdocs folder and uses Ctrl+Shift+F10 to open a preview using the webserver.
