#1 REQUEST: Hilight characters not in visible range

Request: Highlight characters (except white space) not in visible range. I.e. not in the decimal range 32-126 (hex \x21-\x7e). I.e. highlight characters in the range \x7f-\xff.

Have a defined style for "extended ascii characters" so we can change the background of the character to bright pink.

Only have this highlight shown when we hit F12 to show hidden characters.

This would be handy as I found an extended ctr in my Perl program, but when I hit F12, it was not shown as a dot, it was shown as a space.

Or, is there a way to set up a style to highlight characters in a certain value range like \x7f-\xff.

Thanks!

Correction, have the default "hidden ascii character" range be [\x7e-\xff] but let the user redefine that with his own regex.
