Posted by: therium | Date: 2017-02-03 12:54 | IP: IP Logged
Windows 7 Pro and PSPad 4.6.1 (2730).
When I open the local help file (Help menu, Help) I can get an index, but when I double click on a topic, I get no text. I recently installed the Winhelp kit but do I need to add a system path to the help.exe (or whatever) file?
How can I get local help to work on PSPad?
Thank you.

Click on the help file with right mouse and allow it in properties:
If you use standard PSPad installation, it copies help file into user profile folder where you can use it without any problems and necessary settings. There is no necessary install any webkit or anything else.

I don't have an Unblock button on the properties dialog.

I was wrong, I have Windows 8.
I found it. Right click the .CHM file, choose Properties.
Go to the Security tab.
Click once on Authenticated Users.
On "Full Control" click Allow.

Correction:
I found it. Right click the .CHM file, choose Properties.
Go to the Security tab.
Click once on Authenticated Users.
Click Edit button.
On "Full Control" click Allow.
This is a problem on Windows 7 and 8.
